Check-in points

Lenin Stream, Karl Marx Peak, Cốc Bó cave

The heart of the site is Lenin Stream, jade-clear beneath Karl Marx Peak — home of Cao Bằng’s most beautiful photographs. Upstream lies Cốc Bó cave with its plain stone bed, the “wobbly stone table” where Party history was translated, and border marker 108 where the leader first stepped home.

Do not skip the Khuổi Nặm hut and the bamboo grove — the full loop takes half a morning on paved paths, easy even for older guests.

The Kim Đồng Memorial — first stop

Before heading up to Pác Bó, pause at the Kim Đồng Memorial — right in Nà Mạ village, steps from Mế. Vietnam’s first Young Pioneer team leader fell at fourteen on this very homeland.

Early mornings here are very still — trees, the monument and birdsong. School groups usually hold their incense ceremony before continuing.
